AARP & Salem Library Aging in Place Speakers Series - Mark Dellinger, Elder Law Attorney In-Person
The Salem Library is conducting the second installment of a four-part speaker series on aging in place. This session, supported by a generous grant from AARP, will take place in the library's meeting room.
According to the National Institute on Aging's website (www.nia.nih.gov), "Many people want the same things as they get older: to stay in their own homes, to maintain independence for as long as possible, and to turn to family and friends for help when needed. Staying in your own home as you get older is called 'aging in place.' But many older adults and their families have concerns about safety, getting around, or other daily activities. Living at home as you age requires careful consideration and planning."
Mark W. Dellinger of Rhodes, Butler & Dellinger, PC, will discuss estate planning and elder law strategies pertinent to aging in place. His practice areas encompass Elder Law, Estate Planning, Estate and Trust Administration, as well as Assisted Living and Nursing Home Planning. Elder Law covers Estate planning with wills and trusts, Powers of Attorney, Advanced Medical Directives, along with Estate, gift, and income tax considerations, acting as a fiduciary and more. Rhodes, Butler & Dellinger, PC, are located at 318 Washington Avenue, Roanoke, Virginia.
This presentation is tailored for adults aged 18 and over, offering vital information that older adults and their caregivers may choose to include in their aging in place plans.
Registration is required.
The first 25 attendees will be gifted with complimentary "Aging in Place" booklets or products tailored for aging in place, limited to one booklet and one product per household. We extend our gratitude to AARP for providing these valuable resources to members of our community.
